Oxford Centre for Intellectual History

Welcome to the home of Intellectual History at Oxford University. Oxford is one of the most active centres of teaching and scholarship in this field in the world. This lively research community is supported by world class libraries (especially the Bodleian, the major resource for intellectual historians), museums (the Ashmolean and the History of Science Museum), and dedicated Intellectual History lecture series and events. Oxford researchers are engaged in exciting projects to create major digital resources in the field (Cultures of Knowledge, EMLO, e-Enlightenment). Ancient, medieval, early modern, and modern resources from across the world are available to scholars and students.

On this site you can explore our community of scholars, their publications, and the many events and seminars in the subject happening across the University. You can also find information about opportunities for Graduate Study in Intellectual History at Oxford, at Masters and Doctoral level, as well as Visiting Fellowships.
