'The Palestinian Question and the decolonisation of French Algeria: Transnational solidarity movements, 1962-1982'
I am a Dphil candidate in History at Oxford. My research examines transnational solidarity movements with the Palestinian cause in the wake of decolonisation, particularly the ways in which thinking about Palestinian displacement and dispossession reflects and shapes historical memory of settler colonialism; concepts of indigeneity and belonging; gender and affect in anticolonial politics; cultural decolonisation in the era of ‘Third World’ internationalism.
I previously completed my undergraduate studies in History at the University of Leeds, followed by the MSt in Global and Imperial History at Oxford, where my thesis focussed on the racialized representations of female nudity and modesty in French colonial ethnography of Algeria (1881-1931).
